The connection Jerry Shepard had with his dogs was beautiful to see It has two story lines. Snuggled up on a sofa one Sunday afternoon even I, a professional grump enjoyed! Wonderful acting, damn good directing and to me the dogs are the real stars. The film was not region two so could not be watched on my device. There were actually two stories. I really love this movie. Loosely inspired by the ill-fated 1958 Japanese Antarctic expedition that inspired 1983's Nankyoku Monogatari/Antarctica but updated to 1993 just before sledge-dogs were banned from the continent, Eight Below makes a decent attempt at trying to Disneyfy the more tragic true story into a snowbound Incredible Journey.

There are sad moments that bring tears to your eyes, and several perilous incidents - but ultimately this is an uplifting tale of endurance. This film will bring your emotions together and you may well cry. I am a fan of Paul Walker, especially more so since he has passed.
